How the ESRC Review Process Works
From submission to approval, every protocol moves through the same review path.

Investigator submits
Protocol is submitted through the ESRC platform.

Secretariat preliminary review
Quality check. If corrections are needed, the protocol is returned to the investigator; otherwise it passes to the review team.

Review team assessment
Expert review determines the outcome: approve as-is, minor revision, or major revision.

Investigator revises (if needed)
Minor revisions go back to the Secretariat for final review; major revisions go back to the Review Team for final approval.
5
Approved
Protocol passes with no changes needed, or is approved after the relevant revision has been completed.
